Beaver 50 mm x 9 m Ratchet Tie Down, Hook and Keeper, 2,500 kg LC (RTD055PL)

The Beaver 50 mm x 9 m ratchet tie down, code RTD055PL, is a 50 mm wide, 9 m long polyester webbing assembly with a hook and keeper at each end and a lashing capacity (LC) of 2,500 kg (manufacturer-stated). Beaver's manual lists it at 3.1 kg and states the assembly complies with AS/NZS 4380 (manufacturer-stated).

Beaver says its ratchet assemblies are 100% polyester webbing that is heat set, stretched and polyurethane (PU) impregnated, with the lashing capacity stencilled on the webbing and two protective sleeves supplied (manufacturer-stated). Beaver says each strap carries a blue polyester safety label and a stitched serial number for traceability, and that capacity is verified by break tests in its NATA laboratories (manufacturer-stated).

Beaver's website lists a reversible hand ratchet version of this assembly under code RTD055PL-REV at 3.22 kg; the AIMS record uses RTD055PL, so confirm with AIMS which handle type is supplied. Never load a tie down beyond its LC. Beaver states cargo winches are not approved for lifting; do not use this assembly to lift or suspend loads.

Selecting the right option

Check the 2,500 kg LC covers the restraint plan and that the 9 m length suits the load. The LC of the lowest rated item in the system governs. If you need the reversible (pull-down) handle, ask AIMS to confirm it is supplied.
