Beaver BSW Collared Lifting Eyebolt, 3/8 in, WLL 0.25 t (358010)
Available
Beaver BSW thread collared lifting eyebolts are lifting eyebolts with a BSW (Whitworth form, coarse series) thread, a self colour finish and an integral collar, listed by Beaver with a working load limit (WLL) and a transverse load for each size (manufacturer-stated). Beaver says the eyebolt conforms to AS 2317. Beaver describes its eyebolts and eye nuts as predominately used for lifting applications. This listing carries 8 sizes, 3/8 to 1-1/4 in, with WLLs of 0.25 t to 5 t (manufacturer-stated). Beaver's BSW range lists sizes up to 1-1/4 in.
An eyebolt screws into a tapped hole to give a lifting eye on machinery, plant or fabricated steel. Beaver does not state the material or grade and publishes no proof load. Its manual warns that only rated eyebolts should be used for lifting and that loading at an angle reduces what an eyebolt can safely carry.

Working load limit and use
Beaver lists a working load limit (WLL) and a transverse load for each size (manufacturer-stated). The WLL applies to a pull in line with the shank. Beaver's manual says a transverse load is equal to the WLL divided by four, recommends forged steel eyebolts with shoulders or collars for lifting, says a plain eyebolt is fine for vertical loading but is subjected to bending, and can safely carry less, once it is loaded at an angle, and says to use only rated eyebolts for lifting (manufacturer-stated). Beaver's diagram shows a plain eyebolt as acceptable for vertical lifts only and a collared eyebolt only for angled lifts. Beaver does not publish a proof load, the material or the grade for this product. Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards. If you are unsure what suits your lift, contact AIMS or a qualified rigger before ordering.
Angled and paired lifts
Beaver's manual also has an angular loading table for single and paired eyebolts and eye nuts, with its table notes not available to us. It is not reproduced here. For any angled or two-point lift, ask AIMS or a qualified rigger to confirm the rating before you order. Inspect the eyebolt before each use and do not use one that is bent, damaged or corroded.

Codes, sizes, working load limits, transverse loads, dimensions (in millimetres), weights and pack quantities are from Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) and the Beaver website. Beaver does not define the dimension letters. Beaver sells the eyebolts singly (unit of measure: each). For 3/4 in Beaver's manual and website list a WLL of 1.6 t; the lower figure held by AIMS, 1.4 t, is shown, so work to the WLL marked on the eyebolt. AIMS also lists a 1-1/2 in size under code 358038 (A0103038). Beaver publishes no 358038 in its BSW range, so no WLL, dimensions or weight are shown for it. Confirm the WLL and marking with AIMS before any lifting use.
Selecting the right option
Choose the thread and size to suit the tapped hole (thread: BSW - Whitworth form, coarse series), then the WLL for an in-line pull. Check the dimensions against your sling, shackle or hook.
