Beaver G316 stainless steel wire rope thimbles are made by Beaver from Grade 316 stainless steel and sized by wire rope diameter. A thimble holds the eye formed in a wire rope in shape and protects the rope where it bends around the eye. Beaver states that this fitting is not to be used for lifting. This listing carries seven sizes, for rope from 2 mm to 12 mm. Beaver's range also lists 10 mm and 16 mm (612310, 612316).
Beaver says Grade 316 stainless steel is also known as marine grade stainless steel, has high corrosion resistance and is better in harsher corrosive applications such as salt water environments.
