Beaver G70 Safety Release Loadbinder, 7-8 mm, 3,800 kg LC (344208)
Available
The Beaver G70 safety release loadbinder is a BX600 type recoilless lever loadbinder for Grade 70 transport chain. Beaver says its centre body rotates independently of the handle, so tension is released without the handle recoil typical of an over centre loadbinder (manufacturer-stated). This listing carries two chain sizes, 7-8 mm (344208) and 10 mm (344210), fitted with winged eye grab hooks, with lashing capacities (LC) of 3,800 kg and 6,000 kg (manufacturer-stated).
Beaver states the loadbinders are to AS/NZS 4344 (manufacturer-stated). Beaver prints its 25 percent grab hook reduction note against its other winged eye grab hook loadbinders but not against this model; ask AIMS or Beaver to confirm the capacity to use with your chain.
Beaver states Grade 70 lashings and fittings are not approved for lifting. Do not use this product to lift or suspend loads; for lifting use a rated lifting product marked with a working load limit (WLL).
Where this product is used
- Tensioning Grade 70 transport chain lashings on transport equipment, as Beaver describes its Grade 70 transport chain and fittings (manufacturer-stated)
Features
- Safety release handle with unique cam movement: the centre body rotates independently of the handle to release tension without handle recoil (manufacturer-stated)
- BX600 type recoilless lever loadbinder (manufacturer-stated)
- Two chain sizes, 7-8 mm and 10 mm, with winged eye grab hooks (manufacturer-stated)
- Lashing capacities of 3,800 and 6,000 kg (manufacturer-stated)
Beaver's loadbinder guidelines
- Operate by hand only, from a standing position, and stay clear of the handle, as load binding systems store energy that can release suddenly (manufacturer-stated)
- Inspect the loadbinder before each use for wear, bending, cracks and gouges, and replace it if any are present (manufacturer-stated)
- Use only the appropriate size and grade of chain with the loadbinder (manufacturer-stated)
- Do not use handle extensions such as pipes or cheater bars, as they can overload and weaken the system (manufacturer-stated)
- Check the loadbinder is tight before moving, and stop and recheck tightness frequently (manufacturer-stated)

Key specifications
| Code | Chain size (mm) | LC (kg) | LC less 25% (kg) | Weight (kg) | f closed (mm) | e closed (mm) | f open (mm) | e open (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 344208 | 7-8 | 3,800 | 2,850 | 4.4 | 555 | 500 | 665 | 610 |
| 344210 | 10 | 6,000 | 4,500 | 6.6 | 663 | 595 | 773 | 705 |
Figures are from Beaver's data sheet for these codes. Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) lists a larger g dimension (11 and 12 mm against 9.5 and 10.5 mm) and, for 344210, e closed as 585 mm against 595 mm on the data sheet; the data sheet is used. Beaver does not define dimension letters a, b, c, d, e, f and g; they refer to its diagram, and f and e are lengths with the loadbinder closed and open. The 25 percent column is AIMS's arithmetic and applies to grab hook systems per Beaver's note on its other loadbinders.
Selecting the right option
Choose the loadbinder to match the chain size you are tensioning, then check the lashing capacity of the whole system against the load. The lashing capacity of the weakest part of the system governs.
