CRC Penetr8 High Speed Penetrant 400g Aerosol
Available
CRC Penetr8 High Speed Penetrant is an industrial strength, low viscosity lubricant and penetrant that CRC designed to loosen and free seized, bound or frozen fasteners. It leaves a thin, non-drying film, and the technical data sheet gives a maximum temperature of 120 °C.
It is supplied here as a 400g aerosol and a 20L drum. These are separate CRC items with their own safety data sheets and different hazard classifications, so check the pack you are buying.

Selecting the right option
Choose the 400g aerosol for spot application with the extension tube, and the 20L drum for bulk use. For a long-term protective film after freeing a part, see CRC Aerosol Long Life Anti Rust Lubricant 300g.
Using it
CRC's directions are written for the aerosol. Do not apply while equipment is energised, and disconnect it from power.
Shake the can well. Apply a liberal coating to corroded surfaces, saturating the problem area, and use the extension tube where required.
Allow the oil to seep between the joint and the surface, tap the joint lightly to aid penetration, then proceed with disassembly. Repeat for stubborn spots.
Storage and handling
CRC gives a conditional warranty of 5 years from date of manufacture. Keep packs away from heat and ignition sources; do not expose aerosol cans to temperatures above 50 °C.
Limits and safety
The two packs have different SDS classifications. 400g aerosol (5501): signal word Warning. Flammable aerosol (H223). Pressurised container: may burst if heated (H229). May cause drowsiness or dizziness (H336). Transport class UN 1950, Aerosols, Class 2.1. 20L drum (5509): signal word Danger. Flammable liquid and vapour (H226). May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways (H304). Causes serious eye damage (H318). Transport class UN 3295, Hydrocarbons, liquid, N.O.S., Class 3, packing group III. Keep both away from heat and ignition sources. Do not apply while equipment is energised. Read the safety data sheet before use.
