Sutton 16mm x 690mm D646 SDS Max Masonry Drill Bit - Reo Extreme 10 Cut

The Sutton D646 is a 690 mm SDS Max Reo Extreme 10-cut masonry drill bit with a 100% carbide head and a 550 mm flute length. This range has 15 sizes: 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 45 mm. It is for drilling reinforced concrete and masonry.

The 100% carbide head has 10 cutters, designed for increased speed and robust performance across hundreds of holes in reinforced concrete. The SDS Max shank suits all SDS Max rotary hammer drills. The sand-blasted finish is an environmentally friendly production method with zero heavy metals.

Drilling notes

• Use in an SDS Max rotary hammer drill with the hammer action on (rotation plus percussion).
• Apply steady, moderate pressure and let the hammer do the work; extra force does not speed up the cut.
• Choose a length so the hole depth sits within the flute length. For deeper holes step up to a longer series.
• Withdraw the bit from time to time in deep holes to help clear dust, and clear the dust from the hole before fitting an anchor.
• Match the drill diameter to the hole size the anchor or fixing manufacturer specifies.
• On long drills it helps to start the hole with a shorter bit of the same diameter, so the long bit starts straight.
