Loctite AA 324 Structural Adhesive 50ml

Loctite AA 324, also known as Loctite 324, is a one-component structural acrylic adhesive based on urethane methacrylate ester. It is a transparent light amber liquid of medium viscosity and needs no mixing.

It is a general purpose structural adhesive formulated for toughness and impact strength, and it cures anaerobically with Activator 7387. Henkel names electric motors and loudspeaker hardware, for bonding ferrites and plated materials, as typical uses.

Selecting the right option

Loctite AA 324 and Loctite AA 330 Structural Acrylic Adhesive Cartridge 300ml are both activator-cured acrylics with a recommended bondline of 0.1 mm. The cartridge grade is the higher viscosity of the two.

The activator for Loctite AA 324 is Loctite 7387 Activator 100ml.

Using it

Apply Activator 7387 to one surface and the adhesive to the other, then assemble and hold clamped until the adhesive has fixtured. The recommended bondline gap is 0.1 mm.

For larger gaps, up to a maximum of 0.5 mm, or for a faster cure, apply the activator to both surfaces and assemble within 1 minute.

Cure speed depends on the materials, the gap and the temperature; the cure-speed graphs are in the Henkel data sheet. Full strength is typically reached in 24 to 72 hours.

Storage and handling

Store unopened, in a dry place, between 8 °C and 21 °C. Storage below 8 °C or above 28 °C can adversely affect the properties of the product.

Limits and safety

Not normally recommended for plastics, particularly thermoplastics, where stress cracking could result. Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, or as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials. The Henkel data sheet states no operating temperature range.
