Loctite 416 Super Bonder Instant Adhesive

The Loctite 416 Super Bonder Instant Adhesive is a general-purpose ethyl cyanoacrylate for bonding plastics, rubbers and metals. Its thicker consistency makes it easier to control on vertical faces and slightly larger gaps than thin instant adhesives, and with Loctite SF 770 primer it will even bond PP, PE and PTFE. It fixtures in 20 to 50 seconds on mild steel and under 5 seconds on neoprene and nitrile, reaches 18 to 26 N/mm² lap shear on grit-blasted steel, and holds up in motor oil, petrol and alcohols. This is the 25 ml bottle.
Moisture in the air sets it off, so surfaces just need to be clean and degreased with a tight fit, and full chemical and solvent resistance builds over at least a day. Keep unopened bottles refrigerated, and keep it away from pure-oxygen systems and from sealing chlorine or other strong oxidisers. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
