Mackay MA17440 Rubber Buffer, 50 x 50 mm, M10 Thread, Duro 40, 45 kg Static Load

The Mackay MA174 rubber buffers are 50 mm in diameter and 50 mm high with an M10 thread, in three hardness grades. Mackay's picture shows a cylindrical rubber body, and the catalogue says the stud comes separately and that they can be used with Multicushion Studs, either M10M10 Studs or M10M12 Studs (manufacturer-stated).

The MA17440 is Duro 40 (45 kg static, 180 kg buffing), the MA17460 is Duro 60 (115 kg static, 540 kg buffing) and the MA17480 is 300 kg static and 1800 kg buffing. All three have 6 mm static deflection and 20 mm buffing deflection. Mackay's table prints Duro 70 for the MA17480, while the option name on this page says 80 Duro. Mackay's catalogue refers the no longer available M174 to the MA17460 and the no longer available X2747 to the MA17480 (manufacturer-stated).

Letters follow Mackay's drawing: A is the diameter, B the height and C the thread. Static load and buffing load are Mackay's column names. Mackay's table prints Duro 70 for the MA17480, but the option name on this page says 80 Duro and the no longer available X2747, which Mackay refers to this part, is listed as Duro 80, so confirm the hardness with Mackay.

Selecting the right option

All three parts have the same size and thread, so choose by load: each part has its own static and buffing load. Confirm the MA17480 hardness (70 or 80 Duro) with Mackay if hardness matters for your application. The stud comes separately. Mackay prints all properties as nominal and asks you to contact them for technical advice.
