Mackay M410300 Surefoot Levelling Isolator Stainless Steel, M12 x 1.75, 30 to 300 kg

The Mackay Surefoot stainless steel levelling isolator (Mackay's catalogue spells it Sure Foot and lists it as stainless type 304) is the corrosion-resistant version of the Sure Foot levelling foot, designed for cost-effective machine levelling (manufacturer-stated). Mackay says the standard zinc-plated range is made with electrolytically plated zinc applied to automotive standards, and recommends the stainless steel alternative where better corrosion resistance is required (manufacturer-stated).

It has 3 part numbers, M410300 to M412500, with threads from M12 x 1.75 to M20 x 2.5 and load ranges of 30 to 300 kg, 300 to 1200 kg and 1200 to 2500 kg. The dimensions, loads and weights match the standard parts M400300, M401200 and M402500. Like the standard range it is made using Nitrile rubber, which Mackay says has better chemical and oil resistance than natural rubber (manufacturer-stated). Mackay does not list a stainless version above 2500 kg.

Dimension letters A to H follow the Mackay drawing, in millimetres: A overall height, B and C exposed base (min and max), D and E adjustment (min and max), F thread, G base diameter, H cap diameter. Deflection is Mackay's figure at the maximum exposed base, at the minimum and at the maximum load of the range. Mackay prints the minimum adjustment for M410300 as "31.7." and this page reads it as 31.7 mm. Mackay prints all properties as nominal and asks you to contact them for technical advice.

Selecting the right option

Share the machine weight across the number of feet and choose the size whose load range covers the load on each foot. Mackay's ranges meet at 300, 1200, 2500 and 4000 kg, so where a load sits on one of those figures compare the deflection figures (given at the minimum and maximum load) and the base diameter to choose. Check the thread, the base and cap diameters and how much height adjustment you need against the table.
