Ninja Premier Cut D Gauntlet, Medium (NIPRECUTDBRD00M)

The Ninja Multi-Tech Premier Cut D is a 35 cm gauntlet that combines cut resistance and chemical resistance. It has a nylon and glass composite knitted liner in white and a fully dipped textured bi-polymer coat in black over bright red. Ninja's data sheet says the textured coat channels liquid away for grip in wet and dry conditions, and that the soft liner and ergonomic hand shape reduce stress on the hand (manufacturer-stated).

Ninja gives EN 388:2016 4X42D, which is abrasion 4, blade cut not tested, tear 4 and puncture 2, with a cut result of D (manufacturer-stated). Ninja also gives EN ISO 374-1:2016 Type A with the letters A, K, L, M, P and T, and EN ISO 374-5:2016 for virus (manufacturer-stated). Those letters are methanol, 40% sodium hydroxide, 96% sulphuric acid, 65% nitric acid, 35% hydrogen peroxide and 37% formaldehyde, each at performance level 2, which is at least 30 minutes to breakthrough (manufacturer-stated). A chemical rating applies to the chemicals listed and the test conditions, so check your chemical, its concentration and the exposure time with your safety adviser before you rely on the glove.

Ninja lists applications as chemical handling, petrochemicals, agriculture, cleaning and manufacturing (manufacturer-stated). The EN 388:2016 result (manufacturer-stated) is read in the order abrasion, blade cut, tear, puncture and then a cut letter from A to F. A higher number or letter is a higher level, a 0 means level 1 was not reached, and an X means that test was not done. A P at the end means the impact test was passed. Match the glove to your risk assessment, check the fit, and replace gloves that are worn, torn or contaminated. The ratings are test results on the glove material and do not describe every hazard on your site.
