Olfa RTY-2G 45mm Straight Handle Rotary Cutter

The Olfa RTY-2G (45mm) and RTY-3G (60mm) are straight handle rotary cutters with a tungsten steel blade and a blade cover, made for right- and left-handed users (manufacturer-stated).

Olfa lists the 45mm RTY-2/G with an RB45-1 rotary blade included and describes it as cutting flannel, cardstock, leather and vinyl. It lists the 60mm RTY-3/G with a large tungsten steel blade that can cut up to 12 layers of cotton fabric at once (manufacturer-stated).

Both cutters have a blade cover, to be slid into place between cuts, and Olfa says to cut against a cutting mat and keep fingers away from the blade. Replacement blades are the RB45 for the 45mm size and the RB60 for the 60mm size (manufacturer-stated).

Selecting the right option

Choose 45mm for general straight and curved cutting, or 60mm for thicker or layered material and long straight cuts. For a smaller blade see the Olfa RTY-1/C 28mm, or for a squeeze-trigger handle the Olfa RTY-2/DX 45mm.
