Stahlwille SW54KK 5 mm Ball Point INHEX Socket, 1/2" Drive, 100 mm Long

The Stahlwille 54KK and 1054KK are ball point INHEX sockets for 1/2" drive: 7 variants in metric sizes from 5 to 10 mm, for hexagon socket head screws. The 54KK is 100 mm long (5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 mm) and the 1054KK special length is 238 mm long (5 and 8 mm). Stahlwille states a swivel angle of up to 25 degrees to each side.
A ball point hexagon lets the socket enter the screw at an angle, which helps where the screw cannot be approached in a straight line. The sockets are Chrome Alloy Steel, chrome-plated. The datasheets print no DIN standard, no torque rating and no striking or extension instruction. A ball point engages the screw less fully than a full hexagon, so use the straight Stahlwille 54 INHEX sockets where the access allows and keep the ball point for the awkward screws. The 2017 Stahlwille brochure marks the 54KK 7 mm with the application BMW brakes.

Selecting the right option
Check the length in the size table: the 54KK is 100 mm long and the 1054KK is 238 mm long. Where the screw can be reached straight on, the full hexagon Stahlwille 54 INHEX sockets or Stahlwille 1054 long INHEX sockets are the better fit. Turn them with a 512 1/2" drive reversible ratchet.
