The Sutton T212 is a spiral flute tap (R15 spiral, H designation) for metric coarse (M) threads, made from powder metallurgy, 8% cobalt high speed steel (PM-HSS Co) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 5 sizes from M12 x 1.75 to M20 x 2.5.

The 15° right-hand spiral flute suits blind holes in tough, short chipping materials, up to 1.5 x D in depth. The slow helix does not transport chips well, so it has no advantage in soft or long chipping materials, especially deeper than 1.5 x d1. The H designation is for hard materials that form short chips, with a low rake angle and low thread relief. The chamfer is Form C (3 x P), generally for blind holes.

The thread tolerance is ISO 2 / 6HX. The tap is built to DIN 376: reduced shank with square drive.
