Challenger Chain Blocks, Lever Blocks, Hand Winches, Beam Clamps & Lifting Equipment

Challenger is a lifting and materials handling equipment brand producing chain blocks, lever blocks, hand winches, girder beam clamps, push beam trolleys, pallet trucks, horizontal and universal plate clamps, manual and electric lifter trolleys, and permanent magnetic lifters for construction, manufacturing, engineering workshop, heavy maintenance, and warehousing applications across Australia and internationally.

Manual lifting equipment remains essential across a wide range of working environments where electric hoist infrastructure is unavailable, impractical, or prohibited by the regulatory or environmental conditions of the work location.

Outdoor and remote construction lifting occurs routinely at locations where electric power is not available at the lift point.

Explosive-atmosphere zones in petrochemical, mining, and grain handling facilities require certified non-sparking or ATEX-rated equipment that eliminates the electric arc flash and heat generation risk of electrically-powered hoists.

Temporary rigging on construction sites and within machinery for installation and maintenance frequently occurs on structural beams that have not been rated or configured for electric hoist mounting, but that support the manual loading of a chain block or lever block without modification.

In all of these environments, the chain block or lever block is not a compromise or a second-best — it is the correct tool for the task. The lever block’s particular advantage is its suitability for load tensioning and controlled displacement in confined spaces where the overhead clearance required to take up a chain block’s chain drop is not available.

It can also work in any plane — vertical lift, horizontal pull, or diagonal load displacement — making it the rigging team’s most versatile mechanical advantage tool for machinery installation, structural alignment, and precision load positioning.

Challenger’s beam clamp range extends the reach of chain block and electric hoist lifting to any workshop, warehouse, or structure with a standard I-beam or H-beam, converting any overhead beam into a load-rated lifting point without drilling, welding, or permanent structural modification.

The push beam trolley converts a fixed lifting point to a traversing one, allowing the hoist to follow the load horizontally after lifting.

AIMS Industrial offers the complete Challenger range including chain blocks, lever blocks to 6.3 tonne, hand winches, girder beam clamps, push beam trolleys, pallet trucks, lifter trolleys, plate clamps, and magnetic lifters.

Challenger Chain Blocks, Lever Blocks & Hand Winches

Challenger’s manual lifting range provides certified chain hoists, lever hoists, and mechanical winches for construction, workshop, and industrial rigging applications without electric power infrastructure requirements.

  • Challenger Chain Block Generation II: A Generation II manual chain block for overhead workshop, factory, and construction lifting using beam, gantry, or portal frame infrastructure. The chain block provides mechanically-assisted lifting through a precision chain drive and load-brake mechanism, allowing a single operator to lift loads significantly exceeding direct manual handling capacity with controlled, progressive chain take-up. The Generation II design incorporates refined load brake and chain guide improvements for smoother operation and reduced operator handle effort across the full rated load range.
  • Challenger Lever Block Gen II: A Generation II lever block for precise load positioning, tensioning, load restraint, and controlled lowering in confined spaces and rigging configurations where the overhead clearance required for chain block operation is not available. The lever mechanism provides incremental load movement through short lever strokes with the load held securely by the integral load brake between strokes, enabling millimetre-resolution load positioning at any point in the lift or traverse stroke for machinery alignment and structural erection.
  • Challenger 6.3 Tonne Lever Block Gen II — 1.5m: A 6.3-tonne capacity Generation II lever block for heavy rigging, structural steel alignment, machinery installation, and high-capacity horizontal and vertical load tensioning in construction and heavy engineering. The 6.3-tonne capacity addresses structural steel erection, large machinery skidding on greased rails, and heavy fabrication rigging sequences where standard 3-tonne lever blocks are insufficient for the assembly load and a larger unit is required to complete the lift safely within the rated capacity margin.
  • Challenger Manual Hand Winch with Brake (370–1200kg): A manual hand winch with integral self-locking load brake for pulling, tensioning, and controlled lowering of loads from 370 to 1,200kg capacity depending on the model selected. The load brake holds the load at any position in the pull stroke without requiring the operator to maintain handle pressure — enabling load positioning, incremental adjustment, and sustained tension without load runback during hand positioning. Used for trailer loading, equipment skidding on workshop floors, cable tensioning, and pulling applications where a rated winch anchor point is available.

Challenger Beam Clamps, Trolleys, Plate Clamps & Magnetic Lifters

Challenger’s overhead handling and materials handling accessories provide the infrastructure components for complete lifting system integration on standard structural steel in workshops, warehouses, and construction environments.

  • Challenger Girder Beam Clamp (1000–10,000kg): A girder beam clamp for attaching chain blocks, electric hoists, and push beam trolleys to the bottom flange of standard I-beam and H-beam structural sections without any drilling, welding, or permanent modification to the host beam. The clamping mechanism grips the bottom flange under the applied load, providing a rated lifting attachment point directly beneath the beam flange at any position along the beam run. Available from 1,000 to 10,000kg capacity to match beam flange size, beam load rating, and hoist capacity requirements.
  • Challenger Push Beam Trolley (500–5000kg): A push beam trolley for manually traversing chain blocks, lever blocks, and electric hoists along the bottom flange of an overhead structural beam to position the hoist and suspended load horizontally to the desired set-down point after lifting. The trolley eliminates the load pendulum swing that results from carrying a suspended load laterally without horizontal guidance, allowing precise horizontal load positioning in the set-down zone without physically swinging the suspended load into the target position.
  • Challenger 2.5 Tonne Hand Pallet Truck / Pallet Jack: A 2.5-tonne capacity manual hand pallet truck for moving palletised loads, racking components, and heavy equipment within warehouses, production facilities, stores, and distribution environments. The hydraulic pump and metered lowering valve provide smooth controlled lift and descent under full rated load. The standard fork profile and dimensions suit standard pallets and pallet racking entry geometry for common warehousing and industrial materials handling applications.
  • Challenger Manual Lifter Trolley: A manual lifter trolley combining powered vertical lift with a wheeled mobile base for lifting loads to working height and positioning them horizontally in workshop and warehouse environments. The lift mechanism raises loads to bench, equipment, or shelf height for transfer without a separate overhead hoist or crane, and the wheeled base allows repositioning of the load in the horizontal plane after lifting to align with the set-down point.
  • Challenger Electric Lifter Trolley: An electric-powered lifter trolley with motorised lift and lowering for raising and placing loads without manual pump effort. The electric lift provides consistent, controlled lift speed for production-line assembly sequences, repetitive machine loading tasks, and component handling stations where manual pump speed variation would create process timing inconsistency or where the high lift cycle frequency would generate excessive operator fatigue from manual pump operation.
  • Challenger Horizontal Plate Clamps: Horizontal plate clamps with a cam-action jaw mechanism for gripping flat steel plate, sheet, and fabricated structural components at the plate edge for crane and hoist lifting in horizontal plate orientation. The cam jaw locks onto the plate edge under load tension and releases manually when the load is set down and tension removed, providing a secure lifting attachment on flat plate stock without drilling lift holes, welding padeyes, or rigging sling cradles on the plate surface.
  • Challenger Universal Plate Clamp: A universal plate clamp for lifting flat plate in both horizontal (flat) and vertical orientations from a single clamp design, providing the flexibility required for plate handling sequences that include both flat plate transport from stock and vertical plate installation in structural or manufacturing assembly. A single universal clamp replaces the need for separate horizontal and vertical plate clamp models in workshops handling plate in multiple orientations during fabrication and installation operations.
  • Challenger Magnetic Lifter: A permanent magnetic lifter for handling ferrous steel plate, bar stock, billets, and machined components without drilling, clamping, or rigging connections that would mark or damage machined surfaces. The permanent magnet is activated and released by a lever-operated switching mechanism that rotates the magnetic circuit to engage and disengage the magnetic flux at the lifting face, providing instant attachment to flat ferrous surfaces for lifting and instant release on level set-down for load placement.
