Lever Blocks

AIMS Industrial stocks lever blocks from Austlift, Beaver, Challenger, Garrick and Toho — covering industrial lever hoists (lever blocks) from 250 kg to 6,300 kg WLL in standard and Grade 80 chain configurations. Lever blocks are used for lifting, pulling, tensioning and load positioning in industrial, construction, mining and maintenance applications.

Austlift Industrial Lever Blocks

Austlift is a leading Australian lifting equipment supplier offering a full range of lever blocks compliant with AS 4991.

Beaver Grade 80 Industrial Lever Blocks

Beaver 3S series lever blocks use Grade 80 alloy steel chain — 25% stronger than Grade 40 chain at the same diameter, providing a higher WLL in a smaller, lighter package.

  • Beaver 3S Grade 80 Industrial Lever Block — 250 kg to 6,300 kg — Grade 80 alloy chain lever block available in capacity from 250 kg to 6,300 kg WLL. Rated to AS 4991 with 4:1 minimum design factor. Preferred where weight and compact dimensions are important — the Grade 80 chain delivers higher capacity in a smaller package than Grade 40.

Challenger, Garrick & Toho Lever Hoists

  • Challenger Lever Block Gen II — updated Gen II housing design for improved durability and reduced maintenance. Suitable for general-purpose industrial lifting and pulling. Good value mid-range option.
  • Garrick Mini Lever Hoist — compact lightweight mini lever hoist for light lifting and pulling — electrical cable pulling, rope tensioning, rigging and applications where a full-size lever block is too heavy or bulky.
  • Garrick Lever Hoist — Load Limited — load-limited lever hoist with overload protection for applications requiring automatic protection against exceeding the rated capacity.
  • Toho Industrial Lever Hoist — Toho industrial-grade lever hoist for standard lifting and pulling tasks. Robust construction suited to heavy industrial environments.

Lever Block Selection & Safe Use

  • WLL & Safety Factor: Select a lever block rated above your maximum load. AS 4991 requires a minimum 4:1 design factor for lifting equipment. Always apply a de-rating factor for sling angle — a 60° sling angle reduces effective WLL by 50%.
  • Grade 80 vs Standard Chain: Beaver Grade 80 chain provides a higher WLL in a smaller, lighter lever block. Preferred in mobile rigging, confined space and applications where minimising hoist weight and size matters.
  • Overload Protection: Austlift AL-4 and Garrick load-limited models include integral overload protection. Specify these where risk assessment identifies overloading as a credible hazard.
  • Lift Height & Chain Length: Confirm the lever block’s standard lift height against your application. Extended lift heights are available — contact AIMS Industrial for non-standard chain lengths.
  • Inspection: All lever blocks must be inspected before each use and formally inspected annually by a competent person under AS 4991. Any lever block that has been shock-loaded or dropped must be withdrawn from service for inspection before reuse.
