Choosing a shackle
Start with the shape and the pin. A dee shackle is D-shaped and a bow shackle has a wider, rounded bow, and the pin may be a screw pin, a safety pin, a captive pin or a snap fitting, as the title says. Then check the material and finish: galvanised, electro galvanised, black, powder colour coated or stainless steel. The size is selected on the variant on each product page, so check it against the part you are connecting. The rating and the markings for each shackle are on the product page and the data sheet, and they change from one shackle to the next, so always check the product page and the data sheet before you order, particularly if the shackle will be used in a lift.
