Why Nord-Lock works where spring washers fail
Spring washers, split washers, and even nylon-insert nuts can release under sustained vibration. The Nord-Lock geometry is different: the cam angle is steeper than the thread helix, so any rotation that would loosen the bolt is mechanically prevented by the wedge. The washers cannot release the bolt through vibration alone.
