Choosing Goliath threading tools
Start with the thread form, size and pitch, because a tap, die and gauge only work together when they match. Then check the hand (right or left), the flute style (straight flute, spiral point or spiral flute) and the lead style (taper, intermediate or bottoming). Many listings have a variant for each size, so confirm the diameter and TPI or pitch option before you order. Use a cutting oil suited to the material you are threading. Always check the data sheet for sizes, tolerances and material suitability.
