Choosing a sprocket
Start with the chain. The sprocket must match the chain designation, for example 08B or ASA 40, and the number of strands (simplex, duplex or triplex). Then choose the tooth count for your speed ratio and the bore style: pilot bore, taper lock, weld fit or plate wheel. Taper lock sprockets fit the shaft with a taper lock bush, so check the bush size against your shaft.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the chain designation, tooth count and bore suit your drive before ordering.

What is the difference between simplex, duplex and triplex sprockets?
They are made for one, two or three strands of chain. We list BS sprockets in simplex, duplex and triplex, and ASA sprockets in simplex, duplex and triplex.
What is the difference between BS and ASA sprockets?
They suit different chain standards. BS sprockets are listed by chain size such as 08B and 16B, and ASA sprockets by chain size such as ASA 40 and ASA 60. Match the sprocket to your chain.
Do you have stainless steel sprockets?
