2 in (50 mm) Cast Steel Globe Valve, ANSI 300 | VGL30050

This AAP cast steel flanged globe valve has an ASTM A216 WCB body, a Stellite faced seat ring and ANSI Class 300 flanges. It is supplied in 4 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 4 in (100 mm).

A globe valve regulates flow with a movable disc that closes down onto a stationary ring seat inside a roughly spherical body. The stem screws the disc onto the seat, so the valve gives fine control of flow, and AAP says globe valves are typically used where throttling and frequent operation are needed. Flow turns through the body, so a globe valve has a higher pressure drop than a gate valve of the same size. Confirm the flow direction with AIMS before you install it.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 440 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 5,100 kPa (51 bar), with design to ANSI B16.34, flange dimensions to ANSI B16.5 and face-to-face dimensions to ANSI B16.10 (all manufacturer-stated). AAP lists the valve for steam service, oil and the petrochemical industry. The pressure figure is the cold working pressure, so the allowable pressure falls as the temperature rises. Ask AIMS for the pressure and temperature rating if the valve will run hot.

The body is ASTM A216 WCB, the seat ring is A105 with an ER CoCr-A (Stellite) hard facing, the bonnet gasket is 13Cr and graphite, the packing is graphite and the handwheel is ASTM A356.

Choose the size to match your ANSI Class 300 flanges, and check the hole count and hole diameter against your mating flange. Confirm the pressure and temperature rating for your duty with AIMS, and allow room around the valve for the handwheel.
