This AAP natural rubber insertion gasket is drilled to Table E (manufacturer-stated) and is supplied in 14 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 12 in (300 mm), all 3 mm thick.
AAP makes it from commercial-grade natural rubber with cotton reinforcement for general-purpose sealing of flanged joints. It is a full-face gasket drilled for the flange bolts, and the outside diameter, bolt circle and hole size match AAP's Table E plate flanges.
AAP lists a hardness of 70 Shore A, a maximum temperature of 65 °C and applications in air and water. Resistance to oils, petroleum products and acids is poor, and organic solvents are not recommended.

Selecting the right option
Natural rubber suits air and water. Choose a different material for oil, fuel, hydraulic fluid or solvent duties, where the NBR non-reinforced gasket is the better fit. AAP lists low-pressure steam among the applications for this rubber but also gives a maximum temperature of 65 °C, so confirm the operating temperature with AIMS before using it on any steam duty. AAP's catalogue does not give a pressure rating for natural rubber gaskets, and the joint rating is set by the flanges, so check your design pressure with AIMS if you are unsure. Table E and Table D differ in bolt hole count on some sizes, so match the table to your flange and check the hole count and diameter in the table above.
