2 in (50 mm) SS Dual Disc Wafer Check, Viton | VWCSS50A

This AAP stainless steel dual disc wafer check valve has a CF8M stainless steel body and discs, 316 stainless steel spring and shafts, a Viton seat and a PTFE gasket. It is supplied in 4 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 6 in (150 mm).

A dual disc wafer check valve has two half-discs on a central pin, held shut by a spring. Forward flow pushes them open and the spring closes them as flow stops or reverses. The valve is short and light and fits between two pipe flanges. AAP does not state which mounting positions the valve suits, so confirm the orientation with AIMS if the valve is not going in horizontal pipework.

AAP gives a working temperature of -20 to 135 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 2,000 kPa (20 bar), with flanges to ANSI B16.5, and lists the valve for water, oil, gas and high pressure liquids (all manufacturer-stated).

L is the length of the valve between flanges. AAP does not define D and D1 in text: D appears to be the outside diameter of the valve body and D1 an inner diameter, so check both against your flanges before you order.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size to match your ANSI 150 flanges, and check that Viton and CF8M suit your fluid and temperature. AAP also lists a cast steel version with a 304 stainless steel disc in 2 in to 4 in.
