2 in (50 mm) Dual Disc Wafer Check Valve | VWC50

This AAP dual disc wafer check valve has a cast iron body, 316 stainless steel discs, spring and shafts, an NBR seat and flange gaskets. It is supplied in 14 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 24 in (600 mm).

A dual disc wafer check valve has two half-discs on a central pin, held shut by a spring. Forward flow pushes them open and the spring closes them as flow stops or reverses. The valve is short and light and fits between two pipe flanges. AAP does not state which mounting positions the valve suits, so confirm the orientation with AIMS if the valve is not going in horizontal pipework.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 80 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 1,600 kPa (16 bar), with flanges to AS 2129 Table E, and lists the valve for water, oil and gas (all manufacturer-stated). The seat and flange gaskets are NBR, which is why the temperature limit is lower than for the Viton seat version.

The valve is a wafer type, so it sits between two flanges and the flange bolts clamp it in place.

L is the length of the valve between flanges. AAP does not define D and D1 in text: D appears to be the outside diameter of the valve body and D1 an inner diameter, so check both against your flanges before you order.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size to match your pipe flanges, and check the seat material suits your fluid and temperature. AAP also lists a Viton seat version for 2 in to 4 in, a stainless steel version, and a single disc version with an EPDM seat.
