Beaver Sisal Rope, 6 mm x 250 m Coil, 2.55 kN MBF (347606)
Available
The Beaver sisal rope is made from natural staple fibres with a three strand twisted construction, natural colour (manufacturer-stated). This listing carries eight codes from 6 mm to 24 mm, mostly on 250 m coils, with 347610A on a 125 m reel (manufacturer-stated). Beaver says the exposed fibre ends give it the ability to hold knots (manufacturer-stated). Beaver states the rope is made to AS 4142.2 (manufacturer-stated).
Beaver says sisal rope is biodegradable but has a natural resistance to sunlight and weather that allows a reasonably long life in external applications, and describes it for tying down loads on trailers and trucks, for farm use and for camping (manufacturer-stated). Beaver supplies it in full coils or full flanged reels only (manufacturer-stated). Beaver describes this rope for tying down and general purpose use, not for lifting.
Beaver publishes minimum breaking force (MBF) for this rope, not a working load limit. MBF is the lowest force at which a new rope of that size is expected to break, so it is not a safe working load. Do not use this rope to lift or suspend loads.

Beaver also lists sisal rope in other diameters and lengths, including 125 m reels in other sizes. Beaver publishes no weight and no working load limit.
Selecting the right option
Choose the diameter from the minimum breaking force you need, allowing a margin that suits your use, then the length: 250 m coils, or 125 m for 347610A. Beaver supplies sisal in full coils or reels only. Sisal is a natural fibre and Beaver describes it as biodegradable, so inspect it before each use.
