Selecting the right option
Match the gasket to the pipe outside diameter shown in the table and to the coupling. Use a gasket lubricant made for rubber gaskets: Dixon warns that incorrect lubricants such as grease can shorten gasket life and stop the gasket seating correctly (manufacturer-stated). For water, dilute acids, alkalis and salts, Dixon lists the EPDM gasket instead (manufacturer-stated).
