Dixon Stainless steel camlock, 1/2" (15mm)

This Dixon camlock is a coupler with a hose tail (hose shank) in stainless steel. In Dixon's cam and groove system it is the female half of the joint, with the cam levers: an adaptor slides in and the levers are pressed down to lock it. It comes in 11 sizes, from 1/2" (15mm) to 6" (150mm).

The body is stainless steel grade CF8M (316 equivalent) to ASTM-A351, with 210 stainless steel levers, 303 stainless steel pins, 316 stainless steel pull rings and a nitrile Buna rubber seal. The sizes are rated at 250 PSI for 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50mm; 150 PSI for 15 and 65mm; 125 PSI for 75mm; 100 PSI for 100mm; 75 PSI for 125 and 150mm. Pressure ratings are based on mating Dixon fittings at an ambient temperature of 21°C with the standard seal, and asks you to consult Dixon for higher temperatures or other unusual conditions. Camlock couplings are designed for use with liquids and must not be used in compressed air or steam applications.

Choosing the right option

Type C has a hose tail, so pick the size to suit your hose and secure the hose with a clamp or band suited to it; the working pressure of the assembly also depends on the hose and the clamp. It connects to a Type A, E or F adaptor of the same size. Check your media against the CF8M stainless steel body and the nitrile Buna rubber seal; a different seal changes the media and pressure limits (the rating follows the seal of the mating part). No standard exists for 15mm (1/2") fittings and that this size generally does not interchange with other manufacturers. Dust caps and dust plugs must not be used in any pressure application.
