Loctite Instant Mix 5 Minute Epoxy 14ml

Loctite Instant Mix 5 Minute Epoxy is a two-part adhesive: an epoxy resin and a polymercaptan hardener, mixed in equal volumes. A static mix nozzle on the syringe delivers a uniform mixture.

It starts to set in 5 minutes. Cured, it can be sanded and will not crack when drilled. Henkel lists it for metal, glass, ceramic, wood, many rigid plastics, china, tile, fibreglass, concrete and stone, and as a filler for gap bonding, surface repairs and laminating.

Using it

Dispense through the static mix nozzle at 4 °C to 35 °C. Place objects together within 40 seconds of applying the adhesive.

Gel time is 5 to 7 minutes and depends on temperature, humidity and the thickness of epoxy applied. Usable strength is reached at 20 minutes, handling strength at 1 hour and full cure at 24 hours.

Cured epoxy can be sanded and will not crack when drilled. It is not paintable, but can be tinted with earth pigments, cement or sand. It can be combined with fibreglass cloth for a patch.

Storage and handling

Store in a cool, dry location. Humidity and high temperatures may decrease effectiveness. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture, unopened.

Limits and safety

Not recommended for polyethylene, polypropylene, non-stick coatings, nylon products or flexible materials. Not recommended for heat exposure above 49 °C, continuous water immersion or continuously wet areas, or potable water systems. Read the safety data sheet before use.
