The Loctite 222 Low Strength Threadlocker is a purple, anaerobic threadlocker for fasteners that need easy disassembly with standard hand tools. It cures between close-fitting metal threads to stop loosening from shock and vibration, with a low 6 N·m breakaway torque (M10) so small screws come out without shearing. It suits adjustment screws, set screws and small fasteners up to 6.35 mm, and handles -55°C to +150°C. Available in 10 ml, 50 ml and 250 ml.
Clean and dry the threads, spray inactive metals with Loctite SF 7471 or SF 7649 activator and let it dry, then shake the bottle and apply a few drops at the engagement area. It reaches fixture strength in about 20 minutes and isn't normally recommended for plastics or pure-oxygen systems. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
