Loctite 7387 Activator 100ml

Loctite SF 7387, known as Loctite 7387, is an activator that promotes the cure of Loctite toughened acrylic adhesives. It is a transparent yellow to amber liquid with very low viscosity, based on a substituted dihydropyridine in n-heptane and isopropanol.

It is brushed onto one mating surface while the adhesive goes on the other. For gaps larger than 0.4 mm, or for maximum cure speed, treat both surfaces.

Selecting the right option

Use Loctite 7387 with toughened acrylic adhesives such as Loctite AA 330 Structural Acrylic Adhesive Cartridge 300ml. For a cyanoacrylate accelerator, see Loctite 7452 Cyanoacrylate Accelerator 20g.

Using it

Brush the activator onto one mating surface and put the adhesive on the other. Treat both surfaces for gaps larger than 0.4 mm or for maximum cure speed.

Allow 1 to 5 minutes for the solvent to evaporate. The surface then remains active for up to 2 hours. Complete assembly within 15 seconds of the adhesive meeting an activated surface.

Never mix the activator and the adhesive directly as liquids.

Storage and handling

Highly flammable. Store unopened and dry at 8 °C to 21 °C, away from oxidising agents and combustibles, in translucent containers kept in the dark as the product is light sensitive. Storage below 8 °C or above 28 °C can adversely affect product properties.

Limits and safety

Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, or as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials. The solvent can affect certain plastics or coatings, so check compatibility first. Read the safety data sheet before use.
