Loctite PC 7228 (Nordbak Brushable Ceramic White) is a two-component, ceramic-reinforced epoxy coating. The resin is white and the hardener amber; mixed, it is a white liquid.
Henkel lists it as an abrasion-resistant coating, for repairing heat exchangers and condensers, lining tanks and chutes, and as a top coat over Nordbak wearing compounds. It cures at room temperature.

Selecting the right option

Using it
Material temperature should be 20 °C to 30 °C. Mix resin and hardener for 3 to 5 minutes at 2.8:1 by volume (4.5:1 by weight).
Recoat after 1 to 3 hours at 25 °C. Cure time is 5 hours at 25 °C.
Keep open flame away from the cured coating. Use a supplied-air respirator for welding or torch cutting near cured compound.
Storage and handling
Store unopened in a dry place. The optimal storage temperature is 8 °C to 21 °C. Storage outside 8 °C to 28 °C can affect the properties of the product. The Henkel data sheet does not state a shelf life.
Limits and safety
Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, or for sealing chlorine or strong oxidisers. No open flame near cured compound, and use a supplied-air respirator for welding or torch cutting nearby. Read the safety data sheet before use.
