Loctite 3471 Fixmaster Steel Putty

The Loctite EA 3471 Steel Putty (formerly Fixmaster Steel Putty 3471) is a steel-reinforced, two-part epoxy repair putty that cures to a metal-like finish. It is non-sagging and does not shrink, needs no heat or welding, and once cured can be machined, drilled, tapped or filed. It reaches 61.7 N/mm² compressive strength and Shore D 82 hardness, and is typically used from -30°C to +105°C. This is the 454 g kit.

Surface prep does most of the work: degrease, grit-blast to a rough profile and coat before the metal can oxidise, then combine resin and hardener at 2.5:1 by volume until the colour is even, then work a thin first coat firmly into the surface and build up, allowing about 30 minutes of working life and applying between 15°C and 30°C. It is not for pure-oxygen systems or for sealing chlorine and other strong oxidisers. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
