M3 Dome Nut, 316 Stainless Steel - DNUA4M3

The Metric Dome Nut, 316 Stainless Steel is available in 11 sizes (M3 to M24) and is a one-piece nut with a rounded closed top that covers the end of the bolt thread.

You can choose from 11 variants, covering sizes M3 to M24. Variants are supplied in packs of 25 to 100, depending on size.

Made from 316 (A4) stainless steel, the grade normally specified for chloride-exposed work such as coastal installations, swimming pools, marine fittings and food-processing plant. Metric sizes are written M followed by the nominal thread diameter in millimetres, so M10 is a 10 mm thread.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. Use stainless washers and nuts with stainless fasteners, so the whole joint is made of the same material.

Selecting the right option

Check that the bolt does not bottom out inside the dome before the nut is tight. Use anti-seize on the thread. For indoor and general outdoor use where chlorides are not a concern, the A2 (304) version is the lower-cost option: Metric Dome Nut - 304 Stainless Steel.
