1/2" UNC Dome Nut, 304 Stainless Steel - DNUA212UNC

The UNC Dome Nut, 304 Stainless Steel is available in 8 sizes (10-24 to 3/4") and is a one-piece nut with a rounded closed top that covers the end of the bolt thread.

You can choose from 8 variants, covering sizes 10-24 to 3/4". Variants are supplied in packs of 25 to 100, depending on size.

A2 (304) stainless steel is the common general-purpose austenitic grade. It resists corrosion well indoors, in fresh water and in most general outdoor conditions, but it is not recommended where chlorides are present, such as coastal, pool and marine settings. Choose A4 (316) there. UNC (Unified National Coarse) is the coarse inch-based thread. Small sizes are given as a number and threads per inch, such as 8-32 or 10-24, and larger sizes as fractions of an inch.

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

Check that the bolt does not bottom out inside the dome before the nut is tight. Use anti-seize on the thread. Near the coast, around pools or in marine settings, use the A4 (316) version instead: UNC Dome Nut - 316 Stainless Steel.
