M6 x 3.2mm Lag/swage Rigging Screw, 316 Stainless Steel - RLSA4M5X32

Made in 316 (A4) stainless steel, the Rigging Screw Lag/Swage is a rigging screw that tensions wire rope. It has a lag-style threaded end and a swage end for wire rope, and turning the body tightens or loosens the line.

A4 (316) stainless steel contains molybdenum (about 2 to 3 per cent), which improves its resistance to chlorides. It is the grade normally chosen for coastal, pool, marine and food-processing settings, and it costs more than A2 (304).

Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option

Choose the rigging screw by the thread size and the wire rope diameter listed on the variant. A swaging tool is needed for the swage end, and the thread should be lubricated with anti-seize.
