#4-2 Blind Rivet, 316 Stainless Steel - RIVA442
Available
The Rivet A4 (316) Open Type Stainless Steel is available in 20 sizes (#4-2 to #6-12) and is a blind rivet set from one side of the work with a rivet tool. The mandrel is pulled through the rivet body, which expands to clamp the sheet, and the mandrel then breaks off.
Supplied in 316 (A4) stainless steel. The molybdenum in A4 gives better resistance to chlorides than A2 (304), so it is the usual choice near the coast, around pools and in marine and food-processing environments.
You can choose from 20 variants, covering sizes #4-2 to #6-12. Variants are supplied in packs of 250 to 1000, depending on size.
Austenitic stainless steel is generally non-magnetic, although cold-worked parts can show weak magnetism. In wet conditions, keep stainless steel apart from aluminium and galvanised steel with a washer or sleeve, to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the right option
Choose the rivet diameter and grip range to suit the material stack thickness. Sizes are shown as diameter-length code (for example 4-2 for 4 mm diameter and grip code 2). Check that the rivet tool you own can set stainless steel rivets of that diameter. For indoor and general outdoor use where chlorides are not a concern, the A2 (304) version is the lower-cost option: Open Type Blind Rivet - 304 Stainless Steel.
