The Sutton M301 is a square M2 HSS tool bit range in 6 sizes from 3/16" to 5/8", in 2-1/2" to 4-1/2" lengths. They are made from M2 high speed steel (HSS) and have a bright finish.
Recommended for turning or machining of low-alloy and free-machining steels and most non-ferrous materials. The square section is ground to the shape and used as a cutting tool for turning and machining. Sizes are quoted in inches, with metric equivalents in the size table.

Using the tool bits
- Choose the size that fits the tool holder or toolpost slot, with the cutting end clear of the holder.
- Grind the cutting geometry to suit the material being turned.
- Keep the overhang from the holder as short as the job allows.
