1/4 in (8 mm) Stainless Steel 3-Way Ball Valve, L-Port | SS3WAY08L

This AAP stainless steel ball valve is a 3-way L-port valve. It is supplied in 8 sizes from 1/4 in (8 mm) to 2 in (50 mm).

A ball valve turns a ball with a hole through it between sealing seats. When the lever or handle is in line with the pipe the hole lines up with the flow and the valve is open, and a quarter turn closes it. AAP notes that the handle sits in line with the port, so it shows the valve position.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 6,895 kPa (68.95 bar), with a body in CF8M, a 316 stainless steel ball and stem, and a PTFE (Teflon) seat (manufacturer-stated). It suits air, water and hot or cold corrosive fluids in harsh environments, per the manufacturer.

An L-port ball connects the common port to either of the other two ports, so it diverts flow from one line to another.

Selecting the right option

Choose the size to match your pipe thread. The L-port ball diverts flow between two lines, so check that the flow pattern suits your pipework. AAP lists brass 3-way valves in L-port and T-port for other duties.
