CRC Natural Degreaser 400g
Available
CRC Natural Degreaser is a citrus-based cleaner and degreaser with natural d-limonene active ingredients. CRC states it is non-chlorinated and contains no chlorinated solvents or petroleum distillates, and that it evaporates slowly to give a longer dwell time.
CRC lists it for removing grease, oil, dirt, wax and other contaminants from mechanical equipment such as brakes, clutches, chains, motors, dies, moulds and bearings. It is a flammable aerosol and a skin sensitiser, and must not be applied to energised equipment.

Selecting the right option
For a water-based option see CRC Bio Degreaser. For a solvent degreaser that rinses off with water see CRC Aeroclean Degreaser 400g.
Using it
De-energise equipment before use and do not apply while it is energised. Remove covers and plates to expose the interior, and scrape off heavy carbon or grease first.
Spray liberally until clean and repeat if needed. Let the equipment air dry, and vent it fully before use. A clean dry absorbent cloth or CRC Air Brush speeds drying.
Test on ABS and polycarbonate in an inconspicuous area first. Not for use on sensitive electronics, computers or audio-visual equipment.
Storage and handling
Store in a cool (below 50 °C), dry, well ventilated area, away from incompatible substances, heat, ignition sources and foodstuffs. Protect from sunlight.
Limits and safety
SDS classification: Warning. Flammable aerosol, Category 2 (H223), pressurised container that may burst if heated (H229), causes skin irritation (H315), may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317), causes serious eye irritation (H319), very toxic to aquatic life (H400), harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H412). Flash point 40 °C; UN 1950, Class 2.1; marine pollutant per the SDS. Do not use on energised equipment. Read the safety data sheet before use.
Frequently asked questions
Is CRC Natural Degreaser flammable?
Yes. SDS revision 2.6 classes it as a flammable aerosol, Category 2 (H223), with a flash point of 40 °C (closed cup), UN 1950, Class 2.1.
What is in CRC Natural Degreaser?
The SDS lists d-limonene (30 to 60%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether (30 to 60%), 2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetate (10 to 30%) and carbon dioxide (under 10%). CRC states it contains no chlorinated solvents or petroleum distillates.
Does CRC Natural Degreaser have an NSF registration?
CRC states NSF Registration No 134918, Category Code C1: acceptable for use in inedible product processing areas, nonprocessing areas, and/or exterior areas of food processing establishments. It is not an H1 registration.
Can I use CRC Natural Degreaser on energised equipment?
No. CRC says to de-energise equipment before use and not to apply it while equipment is energised.
Is CRC Natural Degreaser biodegradable?
CRC states it is readily biodegradable, and its product page cites OECD 301B. The SDS also classes it as very toxic to aquatic life (H400) and harmful with long lasting effects (H412), so avoid release to the environment.
