The Sutton T147 is a spiral point (gun) tap (H designation) for metric coarse (M) threads, made from powder metallurgy, 8% cobalt high speed steel (PM-HSS Co) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 4 sizes from M12 x 1.75 to M20 x 2.5.

The gun (spiral point) nose curls the chip forward, ahead of the tap and out of the hole, so chip clogging is avoided and coolant can flow without problems. It suits through holes. The H designation is for hard materials that form short chips, with a low rake angle and low thread relief. The chamfer is Form B (4.5 x P), for through holes in medium and long chipping materials.

The thread tolerance is 6HX. The tap is built to DIN 376: reduced shank with square drive.
