The Sutton T373 is a spiral flute tap (R50 spiral, HSC designation, synchro) for metric coarse (M) threads, made from powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 13 sizes from M2 x 0.4 to M20 x 2.5.
The 50° right-hand spiral flute suits blind holes in long chipping materials: the high helix angle curls the chips and transports them back out of the hole. The tap cuts on reversal, so the flutes have rake on both front and back faces. The chamfer is Form C (2.5 x P), generally for blind holes.
The thread tolerance is 6HX.

- Powder metallurgy, vanadium grade high speed steel (PM-HSSE V3). The very fine and uniform grain structure allows high hardness while keeping good toughness, for materials up to 40 HRC and difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steels.
- TiCN coating for abrasive materials such as cast iron and aluminium alloys, and adhesive materials such as copper and copper-based alloys.
