Chain Lever Blocks and Lever Hoists from 0.75T to 10T from Austlift, Beaver, Toho, Challenger, Garrick Herbert and Pacific Hoists
A chain lever block (also called a lever hoist or ratchet lever block) is a portable mechanical lifting and pulling device that uses a ratchet mechanism and a lever handle to lift, lower, tension or pull loads using a short hand chain.
Unlike a chain block (which requires a fixed overhead beam and lifts directly downward), a lever block can be used horizontally or at any angle, making it the preferred tool for load tensioning, positioning and pulling in confined spaces, maintenance operations, rigging, mobile plant work and anywhere a fixed overhead structure is unavailable.
AIMS Industrial sells an extensive range of chain lever blocks from from Austlift, Beaver, Toho, Challenger, Garrick Herbert and Pacific Hoists — Australian lifting equipment and rigging brands supplying construction, mining, resources, manufacturing and maintenance industries across Australia with rated and compliance-marked lifting equipment.
The Chain Lever Blocks Range
Our product range covers lever hoists in 0.75T, 1.5T, 3T, 6T and 9T working load limits with standard lift heights of 1.5m and 3m, across multiple brands to suit budget, duty cycle and compliance requirements.
- Austlift Chain Lever Blocks: Austlift is an Australian rigging and lifting equipment brand supplying rated chain blocks, lever blocks, slings and rigging hardware. Austlift lever blocks are manufactured to AS/NZS and international standards with individual test certificates, making them compliant for use under the Australian Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations governing lifting equipment.
- Beaver Chain Lever Blocks: Beaver supplies heavy-duty lever hoists for industrial, mining and construction lifting applications. Beaver lever blocks are designed for sustained daily use in harsh site environments where lighter-duty hoists would fail prematurely.
- Toho Chain Lever Blocks: Toho supplies lever blocks across the 0.75T to 9T range for general industrial and construction lifting. Toho provides reliable performance at a cost-effective price point for site lifting, rigging and load tensioning applications.
- Challenger, Garrick Herbert and Pacific Hoists: Challenger, Garrick Herbert and Pacific Hoists supply lever blocks for industrial and commercial lifting applications, providing additional brand and specification options across capacity and lift height combinations.
- Capacity Selection: Always select a lever block with a Working Load Limit (WLL) that exceeds the mass of the load being lifted. Include a safety factor appropriate to the application — industry practice is to not exceed 80% of the WLL in normal use. For suspended loads in the vertical plane, the full WLL should be assessed against dynamic loading conditions.
- Lift Height and Chain Length: Standard lever blocks are supplied with 1.5m or 3m of load chain. If the required lift height exceeds the standard chain length, specify an extended chain model. Do not add chain extensions not rated for the hoist's WLL.
- Compliance and Inspection: All lifting equipment used in Australian workplaces must be rated, inspected and maintained in accordance with AS 4991 (lifting devices) and the relevant WHS regulations. Ensure lever blocks are inspected before each use and periodically by a competent person, with inspection records maintained.
