IKO Bearings — Japanese Needle Roller Bearings, Cam Followers & Linear Motion

IKO International (formerly International Kogyo Co.) is a Japanese bearing manufacturer with a specialist focus on needle roller bearings and linear motion products. Founded in Japan and now operating globally, IKO is widely regarded as a world leader in needle roller bearing design and precision — their products are used across automotive, robotics, machine tools, agricultural equipment and general industrial machinery. AIMS Industrial stocks 73 IKO line items across the needle bearing, cam follower, rod end and spherical plain bearing ranges. Manufactured to ISO 1206 / AS 2729 dimensional standards.

For background on needle roller bearing selection, applications and installation, see our needle roller bearing guide. For cross-referencing IKO part numbers against equivalent Koyo, NACHI, NTN and NSK references AIMS holds in stock, see our bearing cross-reference guide.

IKO needle roller bearings

IKO's specialty is needle roller bearings — bearings with long, small-diameter rollers that handle high radial load capacity in a compact cross-section. AIMS stocks the standard IKO ranges:

  • Shell type (HK series) — drawn cup needle bearings in standard, heavy-duty and sealed variants. The HK series is the workhorse needle bearing across machinery, gearboxes and small drive applications.
  • B series (inch dimensions) — drawn cup needle bearings in imperial sizes for replacement in older machinery and US-specified equipment.
  • WJ sigma cage type — reduced-friction cage design for higher speeds and longer service life.
  • Machined type (NK, TAF) — solid-ring machined needle bearings with and without inner rings for high-load and large-diameter applications.
  • Drawn cup roller clutch (FCB) — one-way clutch bearings that lock in one direction, freewheel in the other — used in indexing mechanisms, backstops and overrunning clutches.
  • Cage and roller assemblies (KT), inner rings (IRT, LRT), housing/shaft washers (GS, WS) — the components for custom needle bearing assemblies.

Thrust needle bearings & washers

IKO thrust needle roller bearings (AXK series) and thrust needle bearings (NTB series) handle axial loads in compact assemblies — gearboxes, automotive transmissions, planetary gear sets and pump assemblies. Thrust needle washers are stocked individually for custom thrust stack configurations.

IKO rod ends & spherical plain bearings

IKO metric rod ends are stocked in male and female thread configurations, both right-hand and left-hand thread, for linkage and actuator applications across hydraulic cylinder rod ends, agricultural three-point linkage, mechanical control systems and industrial machinery. Spherical plain bushings (GE-E series without seal) provide articulating, pivoting or oscillating motion in pin joints, steering linkages and industrial mechanisms where a maintenance-free or greaseable pivot joint is needed.
