Industrial Sprayers for Australian Workshops, Maintenance and Field Use

Industrial sprayers cover the pump-up, knapsack, and pressure sprayers used for applying chemicals, cleaning solutions, and treatment products in workshops, maintenance applications, and field work. For Australian trade users handling cleaning chemistry, pest control, fertiliser application, and surface treatment, the right sprayer matched to the chemistry and application volume is essential. AIMS Industrial supplies industrial sprayers in the formats Australian trade and industrial customers actually use.

The sprayer types we stock

  • Pump-up pressure sprayers — hand-pumped tank sprayers for general cleaning and chemical application; typical capacities 1L through 8L
  • Knapsack sprayers — back-pack mounted sprayers for outdoor and large-area work; typical capacities 12L through 18L
  • Trolley sprayers — wheeled sprayers for very large areas where knapsack capacity is insufficient
  • Trigger sprayers — small hand-trigger spray bottles for general workshop cleaning
  • Chemical-resistant sprayers — sprayers with Viton or PTFE seals for aggressive chemicals
  • Powered (battery) sprayers — for sustained spraying without manual pumping

Where industrial sprayers earn their place

  • Workshop cleaning — applying degreasers, cleaners, and surface preparation chemistry
  • Pest control — applying insecticides and pest treatments in commercial buildings and outdoor areas
  • Agricultural work — fertiliser, herbicide, and crop treatment application
  • Vehicle maintenance — applying cleaners, protectants, and surface treatments
  • Industrial cleaning — large-area chemical application in manufacturing and processing
  • Surface preparation — applying primers, etchants, and pre-paint preparation chemistry

Choosing the right sprayer

Three factors drive selection: chemistry compatibility (the sprayer's seals must resist the chemicals being applied — standard sprayers use Buna-N seals which fail with solvents and aggressive chemicals), volume per use (small sprayers for occasional jobs, larger for sustained work), and application pattern (adjustable nozzles for varied work, fixed for production). For workshops handling solvents and aggressive cleaners, chemical-resistant sprayers with Viton seals are essential.

Chemical compatibility — the warning

Sprayer seals are made from various elastomers, each with specific chemical resistance. Common compatibility issues:

  • Buna-N (NBR) seals — handle most water-based chemistry; fail with solvents and aromatic chemicals
  • Viton (FKM) seals — handle most solvents and aggressive chemicals; the upgrade for chemical-resistant sprayers
  • PTFE seals — handle the most aggressive chemistry; premium option for specialty applications

Always check the chemical SDS and the sprayer's chemical compatibility chart before first use. A standard sprayer used with the wrong chemistry leaks, fails, or contaminates the chemical with degrading seal material.

Maintenance for sprayer life

Sprayers fail through neglect more than through use. After each use, flush the sprayer with clean water (or solvent if water won't dissolve the chemistry), pump clean fluid through the trigger and nozzle, and store with the tank pressure relieved. Stored sprayers with chemical residue and seals under pressure develop leaks and seal failures. Annual seal kit replacement is sensible for sprayers in regular service.

Brands stocked at AIMS

Sprayers are stocked from quality manufacturers covering trade-grade tank sprayers, knapsack sprayers, and chemical-resistant variants. For specialty applications or specific brand requirements, contact our team for current options.

Safety and PPE

Spraying chemicals creates aerosol exposure to the operator. Read the chemical SDS for required PPE — typically respirator, eye protection, chemical-resistant gloves, and protective clothing. Spray downwind in outdoor work, with adequate ventilation indoors. Don't spray near food preparation, drinking water sources, or sensitive equipment.

Companion ranges at AIMS

Sprayers sit alongside our broader cleaning and chemical range — see Septone cleaning chemistry, parts washers and cleaners, respiratory protection, and odour control for the related products.
