1/2 in (15 mm) Brass Y-Type Check Valve | VBCY15

This AAP brass Y-type spring check valve has a brass CW617N body, a stainless steel spring and an NBR seat. It is supplied in 9 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 4 in (100 mm).

A spring check valve closes with a spring rather than relying on gravity, so it does not need to be mounted upright. AAP says this valve can be fitted in a horizontal, vertical or oblique position. Flow opens the disc against the spring, and the spring closes it as flow stops or reverses. Like any check valve it stops reverse flow but it is not a tight shut-off valve, so fit a separate isolating valve where you need to isolate the line.

AAP lists the valve for hot and cold water, compressed air and oils (manufacturer-stated). AAP gives working temperatures of -20 to 110 degrees C for air, 0 to 90 degrees C for water and -20 to 60 degrees C for gas (manufacturer-stated). The pressure listed by AAP is 1,172 kPa (11.72 bar) up to 1 in, 965 kPa (9.65 bar) from 1-1/4 in to 2 in and 758 kPa (7.58 bar) from 2-1/2 in to 4 in. AAP also lists a 3/8 in size (part VBCY10) at 1,172 kPa, so ask AIMS if you need it.

AAP prints a column headed kPa for this valve without naming it. It looks like the working pressure and falls as the size goes up, so it is shown here as the pressure for each size. Confirm it with AIMS before you use it for design. AAP does not state the thread form for this valve, so confirm it with AIMS before you order.
