1/2 in (15 mm) Stainless Steel Swing Check Valve | SSSC15

This AAP stainless steel swing check valve has a CF8M stainless steel body, bonnet and disc, a 316 stainless steel hanger pin and plug, a PTFE plug gasket and female threaded ends. It is supplied in 8 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 3 in (80 mm).

A swing check valve lets liquid flow through in a nearly straight line, like a gate valve, and stops it flowing back. A disc hangs on a hinge, so forward flow swings it open and reverse flow swings it shut against the seat. AAP says this type is commonly used on pipelines moving liquid by gravity or by pump. AAP does not state which mounting positions the valve suits, so confirm the orientation with AIMS if the valve is not going in horizontal pipework.

AAP gives a maximum working temperature of 200 degrees C and a cold working pressure of 1,400 kPa (14 bar), with a thread to AS 1722.1, and lists the valve for water, oil, gas, chemicals and corrosive environments and liquids (all manufacturer-stated). AAP calls it a 316 BSP check valve in its table heading. AAP lists a hanger pin and disc, which is the arrangement of a swing check valve.
