Frontier Blue Reinforced Palm Welder Gauntlet Gloves, 40 cm (FRWELDGRPBL0000)
Available
The Frontier blue reinforced palm welder gauntlet is a 40 cm cowsplit leather glove with a reinforced palm, fingers and thumb for high wear areas, gold half welts, a self hemmed finish and a full jersey sock lining (manufacturer-stated). Beaver's sources give EN 388 results of 4143 and 3144, and this page uses the lower figures, 3143, which is abrasion 3, blade cut 1, tear 4 and puncture 3 (manufacturer-stated). The EN 407 result is 414X4X (manufacturer-stated).
The 414X4X result is burning behaviour level 4, contact heat level 1, convective heat level 4 and small molten metal splash level 4, with radiant heat and large molten metal splash not tested. Frontier lists applications as welding, foundries, smelters, mining and construction (manufacturer-stated). Contact heat level 1 is the lowest level, so do not use these gloves to hold hot surfaces for long. The manufacturer lists no EN 12477 welders' glove result for them, so check that the glove suits your welding process before you use it. The EN 407 result (manufacturer-stated) is read in the order burning behaviour, contact heat, convective heat, radiant heat, small molten metal splash and large molten metal splash. An X means that test was not done, so the glove has no rating for it. The EN 388 result (manufacturer-stated) is read in the order abrasion, blade cut, tear and puncture, and a higher number is a higher level. A 0 means the glove did not reach level 1, and an X means that test was not done. Match the glove to your risk assessment, check the fit, and replace gloves that are worn, torn or contaminated. The ratings are test results on the glove material and do not describe every hazard on your site.
The glove is one size fits all, sold as a pack of 12 pairs (manufacturer-stated).
