Mackay M13940 Heavy Duty Flange Isolator M139, Duro 40, 400 to 550 kg

The Mackay M139 is the larger of Mackay's two heavy duty flange isolators: a base 157 mm long, a body 102 mm wide and a height of 48 mm, weighing 0.6 kg. Mackay says the telescopic metal inserts provide considerable stability in all directions, that loads can be suspended as well as supported, and that interlocking flanges ensure suspension even if the rubber is completely destroyed by fire, etc. (manufacturer-stated).

This listing covers four part numbers, M13940, M13950, M13960 and M13970, in Duro 40, 50, 60 and 70. The chart gives compression load ranges from 400 to 550 kg (Duro 40) up to 1100 to 1275 kg (Duro 70), with separate shear figures for each. The base is bolted down through two 14.2 mm holes, 127.0 mm apart. A stainless steel version is listed separately as M13960SS.

Selecting the right option

Choose by load first. Each part number has its own compression load range and its own Duro, so work out the share of the machine weight each isolator will carry and pick the range that contains it. Where two ranges meet (550 kg for M13940 and M13950, 725 kg for M13950 and M13960) the chart prints a different deflection for each Duro at the same load, so pick the softer or firmer one by the deflection you want. The chart stops at 900 kg for M13960 and restarts at 1100 kg for M13970, so it has no figures between those loads. Then check the base against your steelwork: two 14.2 mm holes, 127.0 mm apart, 157 mm overall length.
