Start with the job. Choose a penetrating oil to free seized fasteners, a multi-purpose lubricant for general light lubrication, silicone or PTFE where you want a dry, clean film, a chain or wire rope lubricant for those parts, and a dry film or moly lubricant where oil would pick up dust. Then check the pack, aerosol, pen, pail, drum or bulk, and the size in the title.
