Loctite LB 8017 Moly Dry Film Lubricant 340g

Loctite LB 8017 is a molybdenum disulphide based solid film lubricant. It is a black, one-component product used for lubrication and anti-seize, and the film does not flake when scratched with a blunt object.

Henkel states it may be applied by brushing, dipping or spraying directly to clean metal surfaces. It air-dries in 60 minutes at 25 °C, and oven curing thermosets the film.

Selecting the right option

LB 8017 is a dry film. For an anti-seize compound that is not a dry film see Loctite LB 8504 Graphite Synthetic Anti-Seize Lubricant - 454g or Loctite 771 Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant 500g.

Using it

Apply by brushing, dipping or spraying directly to clean metal surfaces. Let the film air-dry; drying time is 60 minutes at 25 °C.

To thermoset the film, heat at 260 °C for 0.5 h, 232 °C for 1.0 h or 204 °C for 2.0 h. Oven-cured films resist most solvents and fluids.

The air-dried film withstands water and water solutions, but organic solvents and oils can soften and dissolve it.

Storage and handling

Store unopened in a dry location, ideally between 8 °C and 21 °C. Storage below 8 °C or above 28 °C can adversely affect the properties of the product.

Limits and safety
